WELCOME to the official site of Heiwa-do Karate Concepts!!!

Karate Concepts was founded in 2005 on the idea of bringing quality karate instruction to the community through our schools. There is a real time shortage in our generation, and we've discovered that making our program more easily accessible gives many more students the ability to participate in the arts. With a focus on quality, opportunity, and convenience, our company has been successful from day one.

The Japan International Karate Center family of schools mourns the passing of its founder. Whether you knew him as Sensei, Shihan, or Soke, we shall not soon see the likes of JIKC founder Kiyohisa Hirano Again.

Karate Concepts LLC has been an independent entity teaching the art of Heiwa-do Karate under the auspices of the Japan International Karate Center since January of 2005.

In Hawaii, the JIKC family of dojo can be found throughout the island of Oahu, from Kapolei to Hawaii Kai. As a member of JIKC, Karate Concepts LLC is a dedicated organization teaching Heiwa-do Karate six days a week out of four locations.

The 'star-like' pattern of the JIKC emblem is identical to that which may be found on the face of a compass. Like a compass, Heiwa-do karate is a tool, which through proper use, allows us to find our way.

As a contact activity the risk of personal injury in the study of martial arts is very real. Students are adomnished to practice safety and safely at all times! Persons seeking to study any of the arts should consult with their personal or family physician before attempting to do so.

A student of Heiwa-do trains diligently, "Not to conquer others, but to conquer the weaknesses within themselves."

And it is to that end, that we endeavour to support individuals, parents, clergy, and educators in the monumental effort of improving our society.

Karate Concepts advocates karate training as a 'way of life'. Our mission is to offer a curriculum of education whose philosophies, practices, and methods, promotes strong minds, healthy bodies, and ethical spirits.

Not all karate schools are alike. True freedom is the ability to choose. Determine your training goals, choose carefully, & enjoy the benefits karate training brings.

Self-Defense skills are not always meant for use against others. The discipline that dedicated training brings also defends us against "ourselves." The purpose of repetition is to turn training into reflex. This includes learning to make good choices, and the conviction to say 'no' when offered bad ones.
